Antron® carpet fibre rolls over to peace and quiet

The INVISTA, Antron® carpet fibre track ball demonstrates just how effectively carpet can deaden sound when compared to hard floorcoverings - as the ball rolls from surface to surface it is plain to see just how much effect carpet can have on reducing sound - a fact supported by recent research commissioned by INVISTA, manufacturer of Antron® carpet fibre, and carried out by the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO).
The study explains that carpet is capable of reducing airborne sound by more than 50% than hard floor coverings at higher frequencies (2,000 to 4,000Hz) and can reduce impact sound by up to 40dB for thick, deep pile carpets and by up to 20dB for flat woven textiles.
Yet, not only can carpets with Antron® carpet fibre help to improve acoustics within a room, they can also improve overall well being by providing perceived temperature increases and temporarily reducing airborne dust and suspended particles.
