Plenty of spirit from Antron® carpet fibre
United Kingdom, 1 October 2007 – INVISTA, Antron® carpet fibre is helping to provide the performance behind the design in Lees Carpets' latest modular creation, Spirit of the Place.
Inspired by the fusion of colour, pattern and culture of historic cities, the collection evokes the essence of four exotic cities in the shape of Shanghai, Istanbul, Kyoto and Tokyo. Created by a collective of international designers from Lees Carpets and BMW Group DesignworksUSA, the Spirit of the Place Collection brings the diversity of the human experience to any interior.
With a strong textural influence, the 60 x 60cm modular tiles of Spirit of the Place are manufactured from Antron® Legacy™* yarn to provide improved appearance retention and resistance to crushing and matting, ensuring that the collection maintains its stylish appearance over an extended period of use.
With a unique square profile a square cross section with four hollow channels running along its length, Antron® Legacy™* carpet fibre has also been developed to minimise the appearance of soiling, providing commercial office environments with a carpet that minimises the effects of heavy footfall and tracked-in dirt. Lees Carpets has also seen fit to equip Spirit of the Place with its own Duracolor patented and permanent stain resistance system.
Spirit of the Place has advantages for the environment too. INVISTA, Antron® carpet fibre's lower environmental impact that has seen it certified as an Environmentally Preferable Product by independent third body, Scientific Certification Systems, is enhanced with the addition of Lees Carpets' Encycle backing. Encycle is a 100% PVC-free backing that can be recycled back into itself without separation.
As Jane Harrison, UK Marketing Manager for INVISTA's Antron® carpet fibre explains, Spirit of the Place brings the commercial office sector a performance carpet solution:
"The innovation behind Spirit of the Place's unique design is supported by the innovation that is Antron® Legacy™* carpet fibre. With the specification and design communities looking for modular carpet that not only gives their project that extra edge, but that will also ensure performance well into the future, the combination of INVISTA, Antron® carpet fibre and Lees Carpets in the Spirit of the Place Collection provides an ideal solution."
