A dash of black from Antron® carpet fibre

United Kingdom, 1 May 2008 – - With stunning looks and the need for the performance to match, Modulyss has turned to INVISTA Antron® carpet fibre for its Black& modular carpet solution for commercial office interiors.

Designed to meet the exacting needs of the commercial office sector in both style and performance, Black& meets the high style expectations of specifiers with a structured design that combines the elegance of black with 16 fresh tones ranging from pure white through to a zesty green and bold red.

The 50 x 50cm tile, makes use of properties of Antron® carpet fibre to maximise performance and to provide commercial offices with a floor that not only looks good, but that performs also. However, Black& makes use of not one, but two types of Antron® carpet fibre.

Antron Lumena® performs the duties for the dominant black in the Black& design. This solution dyed type 6.6 nylon ensures that the strength of black is resistant to sunlight and harsh cleaning chemicals, while the dying flexibility of Antron® carpet fibre allows Modulyss to create the stunning shades that give Black& its unique appeal.

With the tighter molecular structure of both fibres, Black& has improved resistance to foot traffic through a superior ability to resist crushing and matting. The result is that Black& stays looking good for longer.

Jane Harrison, Flooring, Antron® carpet fibre comments:

"With Black&, Modulyss not only needed high performance, but it also required some flexibility at the manufacturing stage. Working from a base white colour in Antron® carpet fibre that also makes for one of the 16 shades, Modulyss can dye to order meaning that small and large projects can be catered for within great timescales.

"However, to ensure the black remains untainted, the solution dyed quality of Antron Lumena® prevents the dye penetrating the face fibre - leaving the pure black that gives Black& its stunning aesthetic."
