INVISTA Antron carpet fibre and Christy Carpets provide style and
substance at Puig
United Kingdom, 3 March 2008 – - INVISTA Antron® carpet fibre and Christy Carpets have joined forces and fulfilled a brief for sublime style and high performance at leading perfume supplier Puig in the heart of London.
Some 600m² of carpet from Christy Carpets in Antron® Legacy has been used to transform the floor space at Puig's London offices that entertains big hitting clients from the world of fashion and retail.
The expertise of corporate interior specialist Workpl@ce was called upon by Puig to completely transform the interior of its offices into a haven for productivity and one that reflected the style and fashion side of its business.
With a stunning pattern and performance to match thanks to the design flexibility and wear attributed of Antron® carpet fibres, Christy Carpets' Jazzed in Black Light from the Mod Squad collection formed the basis for the installation and appeared in meeting rooms and the marketing suite and was complemented with the equally stunning 3D visual of Contour from the Atelier collection in Agave in other areas.
Both Jazzed and Contour are manufactured from INVISTA, Antron Legacy® performance carpet fibre that is ideal for commercial office environments. With a specially engineered multi-hollow cross section and square profile, Antron Legacy® has been designed to diffuse light and minimise the appearance of soiling, while the tighter molecular structure of this type 6.6 nylon resists crushing and matting. The result is a carpet that enables a less frequent cleaning regime and that stays looking good for longer.
Responsible for the interior Workpl@ce Project Designer Gary Cranson had been looking for just such an opportunity to use some unique designs from Christy Carpets as he explains:
"When the client's brief for a high style interior came through it was clear that the project demanded a high performance, design lead flooring solution. I knew about Christy Carpets fantastic designs and that lasting good looks would not be a problem due to the use of Antron® carpet fibre. In essence, I would have the product I needed an all fronts. From the start it was clear to see that the office was at maximum capacity and this meant that I did not need the future flexibility of a modular carpet. In effect, I was allowed more freedom and the design scope offered by broadloom carpets was a natural solution. I'd been keen to use some interesting designs from Christy Carpets since I had received the sample books and this was the perfect project."
"Puig's products and clientele are fashion conscious and the style of Jazzed and Contour fitted perfectly with this ethos. With art deco in resurgence, the stunning black and white circles and squares have a real 1920s feel to them and with the accent of Contour's show stopping 3D-effect and green tone, the floor made the perfect statement for Puig and the perfect base for the new office interior. Of course, knowing that Christy Carpets had utilised Antron Legacy® carpet fibre within both styles gave me a level of security in their in-situ performance and means that Puig can make the most of the carpet for years to come."
